Planning Your Trip with Miles

Planning a Trip requires to answer 4 simple steps. Below you will find information on each of these steps to assist you if you are having difficulties.

Steps and Specify the Origin/Starting Point and the Destination by entering:

  • an address, e.g. 7021 Memorial; OR
  • an intersection, e.g. 71st and Memorial, or 71st @ Memorial ; OR
  • a landmark, e.g. Woodland Hills Mall
  • Note: Do not enter a city name with an address or intersection

If the information that you enter can be interpreted in more than one way, a list of possible matches is returned, so that you can choose the one you want and proceed.

Tip: If you are having difficulty matching your address or intersection, try omitting punctuation, unit/suite numbers, street suffixes (i.e. St., Ave., Blvd.) and/or directional indicators (i.e. N, S, E, W) .

MTTA route 601 and The Lift service is not available through the Miles the Trip Planner. Please see tulsatransit.org for more information about these services.

To search for landmarks, click on the Select from popular locations menu box and choose a category from the drop-down list. This is useful if you do not know the name of the landmark you are looking for. Note: Not ALL landmarks throughout the MTTA Service Area are included. If you are having problems with a specific location, please try entering it using the address.

Please be aware that the Miles the Trip Planner will only create itineraries for fixed-route bus service. Fixed-route service Broken Arrow is also available through Miles the trip planner. View MTTA System Map for more information regarding the MTTA service area.

Step Enter a Date/Time for departure or arrival and select Options

By default, Miles the Trip Planner assumes that your request is made for today, departing at a time close to the current time. The Date displayed is the date your 'Trip Planning' results will be based on. Date selection is important as MTTA provides different levels of service on different days. A trip valid on a given weekday may not be available on the weekend, or on a future weekday after a scheduled service change.

Enter the Time of day you want to travel. Select am or pm and indicate whether you want to depart or arrive at the time of day specified.

Please note: you cannot select a date beyond 14 days from the current date.If you do not specify am or pm, accurate itinerary results may not be provided.

Miles the Trip Planner will find itineraries based on the exact time provided. Remember times at some stops are estimated based on normal conditions and actual times may vary slightly. Please allow sufficient walking time to/from your Origin/Destination.

Step Select Options

The Sort Results by drop-down menu enables you to optimize your itinerary search results by:

  • Number of Transfers - sorts itineraries by the fewest transfers (default setting)
  • Trip Time - sorts itineraries by the shortest trip
  • Walking Distance - sorts itineraries by the shortest walking distance

Selecting the appropriate Fare provides the costs associated with your Trip.
